Investor App for Mutual Fund Distributors: A New Transaction Journey for Your Clients

Investor App for Mutual Fund Distributors: A New Transaction Journey for Your Clients

Your clients already invest on their phones. The question is whether the investor app for mutual fund distributors you offer helps them do more than start a SIP, or sends them elsewhere the moment they want to switch, redeem or explore a fund.

The Wylth® Investor app has been rebuilt from the ground up around a guided, discovery-led transaction journey. Investors can browse and research funds, transact across six product types, and complete payment with fewer taps and far more context than before. Here is a walkthrough of what has changed and why it matters for your distribution business.

Why Distributors Need a Better Investor App

For most MFDs, the client app is where trust is either built or lost. Common problems with a basic app include:

  • Only SIP and Purchase are available, so clients leave to switch, redeem or set up an STP or SWP

  • Fund selection happens through a plain dropdown, with no context on returns or risk

  • Payment details sit on a separate page, which adds a step and a reason to drop off

  • Clients are unsure about mandates until the very end

  • Support teams field calls about order status and payment links

The new Investor app tackles each of these directly, giving you an investor app for mutual fund distributors that works the way retail investors actually think. It also works alongside the rest of your stack, from the CRM to the dashboard. If you want to see how everything fits together, read our guide to the best mutual fund software for distributors in India.

1. Discover Funds with Popular Funds and Category Browsing

The Invest tab now opens into a curated Popular Funds carousel, showing top schemes with 1-year returns and risk labels. A new “Select by” row lets investors jump straight into Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Cap, Flexi Cap, Liquid or All-fund views, with sort and filter inside each category. A New Fund Offerings section keeps new launches in view.

Why it matters for you: investors browse and shortlist inside your app, rather than searching blind or going elsewhere.

2. Rich Scheme Details, One Tap Away

Tapping any scheme opens a bottom sheet with the current NAV, a NAV-movement chart, 1, 3 and 5-year returns and the fund objective, along with direct Start SIP and One-time Purchase buttons. Research and action now happen on the same screen.

3. Six Transaction Types, Grouped Sensibly

Previously the app supported only SIP and Purchase. Every transaction type now sits under three simple buckets, all reachable from a single “Select Transaction” sheet on the fund page:

  • Purchase: SIP and Lumpsum

  • Switch: Switch and STP

  • Redeem: SWP and Redeem

Each journey shows the details investors need before they confirm, such as balance units, long-term and short-term gains, and load-free versus load-applicable units. This turns the app from a SIP-and-Purchase tool into a full-service investing experience. 4. Mandates and Payment, Without the Extra Step

Two changes remove friction from the funnel:

  • Mandate count upfront. As soon as the investor selects their Digi MF account, the app shows how many mandates are available (for example, “5 mandates available”) on the transaction form, before they reach payment.

  • Payment mode on the same screen. Bank Mandate selection for SIPs, and Bank Account plus Payment Mode for purchases, now live on the transaction screen itself. A “Select Payment Mode” picker offers UPI, NEFT, RTGS, Net Banking, Debit Mandate and Insta UPI, and a “Skip payment method selection” option speeds things up for repeat investors.

5. Flexible SIP End Date

Frequency and start date are now combined in a single selector (for example, “Monthly, 20th of Every Month”). A new SIP End Date control lets investors choose the Mandate End Date, a fixed End Date or a specific Number of Installments. Goal-based investors finally get control over how long a SIP runs, not just when it begins.

6. A Clearer Order Preview Before Every Transaction

Every transaction ends with a detailed “Order Details” review: funds, order type, units, dividend option and amount are laid out before the investor commits. This reduces the chance of an unintended order.

7. 2FA and Payment Links on the Success Screen

Once an order is placed, the Order Status screen shows the 2FA link and Payment link straight away, with copy, open and email shortcuts. That closes the gap between placing an order and completing payment, and cuts down on “where is my link?” calls.

8. You Control Which Transactions Your Clients See

A new System Preference panel lets each distribution partner switch Purchase, SIP, Switch, STP, Redemption and SWP on or off centrally for all their clients. There is no engineering dependency to roll out a new transaction type to your investor base.

What This Means for Your Business

  • Fewer drop-offs: one less screen in the funnel means one less reason to abandon a transaction.

  • More AUM under your name: with Switch, STP, SWP and Redeem supported, investors stay in your app to manage their whole portfolio, and discovery tools encourage additional investment.

  • More trust: NAV history, returns, mandate counts and a detailed order preview reduce ambiguity at the moments that matter.

  • Lower support effort: clearer SIP end-date options, order previews and instant payment links remove common sources of confusion.

  • Faster rollout: switch transaction types on for your clients when you are ready.
